Diversity at Bard?

As a minority (African American) student who is interested in attending Bard I’m curious to know what the representation on campus is like, especially since diversity is something that is very important to me. I recall College Board and Princeton review reporting that Blacks make up a whopping total of 1% of the student body, while Hispanics and Asians each make up 3% . College Board does however state that 36% of the student body did not report race, but Bard’s stats of 2009’s entering class reports differently

I honestly don’t know what to believe but if there are any current Bard students, or other prospective students like myself that can give some insight to this, I’d greatly appreciate it :)

I went to a very diverse high school, and while Bard isn’t nearly as diverse as my school, it was much more diverse than I expected and much more diverse than many other colleges.

I don’t know specifics, but I will say that Bard is diverse on every level–racially, ethnically, nationally, sexually, height, width, languages, interests, etc. And it is everywhere from your dorm, your classes, the paths you walk, and more.

Bard isn’t the most diverse college or university in the country, but it certainly exceeded my expectations and I actually believe that it’s a pretty diverse school, especially for it’s size.

ah thanks so much for your response! do you mind if I pm you? I have a few other questions about Bard.

that’s more than fine. i’ll answer them as best as i can.
