My EC rescheduled my interview for 4 times and it seems like I’m not gonna have it. Can AO’s know that I would have loved to have an interview or will they consider I wasn’t responsible enough to contact my EC??
They know who your EC is, at least by number. Unless someone reports it, they will not know the history of setting up the interview. (How could they?)
I would definitely email admissions explaining the situation. My EC didn’t respond after two weeks and three emails, so they just assigned me a different person. Even though my interview took place well after the deadline they said it was fine because they knew the situation.
FYI, The deadline for students to contact their EC was December 10. The interviews can (and many do) take place after December 10. The deadline for the ECs to get their reports of those interviews in is January 6.
So, there is still time. Forward your interview requests to the admissions office to show that you made the December 10 date (assuming you did, otherwise you may be out of luck) and ask for help.
@SoCcErTrAcK2016 I had the same issue. I emailed admissions after the interview deadline and they assigned me to a new interviewer, and then everything was fine. Emailing admissions solves most problems
Yes, I respond very favorably to applicants who were just assigned to me as their original interviewer was non-responsive. Much less favorably to applicants who could have contacted me on time but chose not to. In exceptional circumstances, I have even seen MIT accept a late interview report, when it is the EC not the student who messed up.
The office told me last Tuesday they cant assign me to a new one as they are all probably busy. Anyways maybe my EC will find the time eventually.
@Christina1225 that’s an odd response. Email me.
