Do any non-seniors actually send their SATs to colleges on the test date?

I took my Math II subject test in June '10 as a sophomore and will retake it and possibly another subject test in October, as well as the SAT I in November. Does anyone actually send their scores directly to colleges they're thinking of applying to? I mean it serves no advantage and can even be disadvantageous if the applicant wants to use score choice... is there any point to doing so? I know seniors do it if they're applying early decision or something, but other than that it seems rather dumb.

I did. The price was enough to convince my parents to send the scores blindly to six schools, so I didn’t really have a choice in the matter anyway. I was lucky enough that the scores (my first SAT I and Math II and Physics Subject tests) were acceptable for my target schools.

It’s also one less thing to worry about sending along with your application. This may not mean much to you but for people paranoid about forgetting a part of the application it may be more convenient to do it this way. Or perhaps if the prospective student is looking at less competitive colleges to send the scores to.

Nope, I was too afraid

I’d have thought that most did to save money. I did the four times I took a test (twice for SAT I and twice for SAT II).

My son did it also for his sat I and II. We were saving money.
