scarlet:
are there rich kids at ur school or neighborhood?

Well my school is all rich kids except for some of the military kids from the Garmisch base. And I live in a pretty rich area: around Starnbergersee outside of Munich.

How about you?

definately.
kids drive '05 range rovers, carreras, hummers, escalades, e-55s, a6, 5 series, tahoes, denalis, 6 series, s55s, etc...

thought this looked funny: http://forum.surfermag.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=865123&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

Yeah here only seniors drive (18 driving age), but we have a bunch of Porsches, Mercedes, Range Rovers, etc. It's crazy- a bunch of the parents have even greater cars- like Ferarris and such. Our parking lot is ridiculous.

Yeah that's in Munich. I've seen it before. It's pretty hilarious to see people surfing in the canal.

Toyota Camry-the classic Asian car lol

Not all american cars are garbage--most of them are.

The Northstar engine (cadillac/a few other top of the line GM models) and the LS7 (corvette) are both great engines. Cadillac suspension systems far surpass any other luxury car. They set the standard in the 40's and 50's that remains to this day.

Am I biased because I drive a Seville? Yes.

Yeah, I was at a car show this weekend. I love my car, but it's the kind of car that I want for when I'm 40 or 50. I love the feeling of riding near the road.

Oh, and given the choice between MB and BMW, I'd go MB, but that's the prestige whore in me.

American cars are terrible. You could not pay me to own one. shiver

I <3 Germany and their cars - and their crazy drivers.

Why American cars aren't as atrocious as people make them out to be:

There are a few good American cars out there. That being said, when I get the money, I'm upgrading to an NSX, Supra, or a Mercedes...

The reason why I hate American cars has nothing to do with racing. They guzzle gas and are absolutely terrible for the environment. About 8x worse than any car currently out there (lets not even get on their trucks/SUVs compared to say, honda SUVs or toyota trucks). They are also manufactured terribly.

^agree w/ Visirale- "Oh, and given the choice between MB and BMW, I'd go MB"
for some reason i just don't like bmws's... they're nice and all but the annoying new people who move to my town seem to all buy bmws for themselves and their kids.. god knows why. it's pretty funny bc most of the people w/ the nicest houses drive jeeps or something and the people w/ relatively unimpressive houses have hummers, bmws, and the like parked out front

Haha, ok. One of those types. Well, I'm a libertarian, and for preserving the environment... But The romantic in me loves getting behind the wheel of a car and flooring it. Paticularly V8's and other non-mileage friendly cars. My car gets around 10 mpg around town because I drive it hard. I usually get around 22 or so on the highway.

My dad's 2500 dodge turbodiesel gets around 20 mpg, which is wonderful for a 4000 lb truck.

I don't know. I guess I can justify the adrenaline rush and personal satisfaction that I get with a v8. You have to enjoy your life somehow... For me I guess one of the ways I do it is with engines....

I can understand that. I sometimes get that way around my brother's turbo cars.

We can agree to disagree though. :)

We can, and if you really want to take a look at the big trucks made by the Japanese car companies, I'd really like to see how they are somehow better.

2002 Saturn SL2 (silver-blue)

I don't know- there's just something about MB that I don't like. It's weird. They have a couple okay cars, but I'd just never buy one. I'll stick the the BMW's and the Porsches.

I'd rather get me a nice, cheap, gas efficient Civic Hybrid.

But I'm neurotic about gas mileage.

I drive a Mazda Protege, but we also have a Civic Hybrid that I've driven once... It's a nice car, and I also like good gas mileage. I'll probably get a hybrid myself in a couple of years when I can.
