Do any of you guys have that "one genius kid" at your school?

Everybody in my school that was ranked in the top 65/321 had over a 4.0 gpa. So, I used to think i was smart until i heard about that...And then my rank went to 66, YAY! But anyways, our valedictorian is the genius kid. She is so smart that I remember when she got a 94 in an AP class and freaked out (95-100 is an A, 92-94 is an A-). So, that was her one out of two a- in high school. She ended up graduated with a 4.50 GPA / 4.6. This is EXTREMELY significant because the subsequent ranks go as follows:

2: 4.40 W gpa

3: 4.30 W gpa

So, it's pretty significant that she has such a high gpa!
She got rejected from harvard, though, even with a 2310 SAT. which was rediculous. and her 6 ap classes total (our high school doesn't have very many ap's.)

Yeah, she is asian, and I shouldn't stereotype. But in our sch ool all the asians were genius :P (i did know one who wasn't, but that's another story.)
P.S> no offense to asian people AT ALL i love them, but...they are just so smart!@ (it seems)

She has gone throiugh a lot though and for her to still be in practically all ap and all honors with no B's EVER is amazing. For one, her sister was killed in 9th grade in the macy's day parade (car accident,) her dad is in China so she never gets to see him, and all the pressure to succeed. It's insane. And I give her kudos. BUt she is just too smart haha.

A lot of the people at my school would be considered the genius kid Our school doesn't rank anymore, but there are three girls who are probably at the top of our class. One is a cross country/track star and does a ton of other e.c.'s. The second one does lacrosse (she's not that good). Both of those two have social lifes. The third works really hard at school and wanted to get a tutor because she was getting a 94 (on a 100 point scale) in physics (they wouldn't let her, btw). She has no social life (she could if she wanted to) and no e.c.'s except choir. All three are in honors classes, but not extreme classes (such as taking math at the university across the street during sophomore year) THen there are the nerdy boys who do take those classes, and since they aren't weighted, their GPAs are lower. They have NO social skills whatsoever, and compete to get 36s on their ACTs and stuff.

At high school we had a few mega nerds who did nothing but study. I'm sure those people exist in university as well but I don't hear about them, since the student body is so much bigger. I don't even know, or care, what marks my close friends are getting, let alone random high acheivers who I don't even know.

People think I study all the time, which is quite funny, as I only do the minimal amount needed and read whatever interests me.

Shhh! I gave away my secret!

kids at school think that I'm a genius, but they could not be further from the truth. Sometimes I wish that they never did...but school is over now, so I don't give a crap.

in my public school there is a very large gap between the top two and everyone else. My school adds a point to honors class so an A+ =5.5, but because of required non honors classes, such as health, first year english etc. no one comes close to that. Normally the vals gpa is around a 4.8, this years val and sul were brilliant, with gpas of 5.0 and 4.93, they're both going to harvard. The two guys gpas this year are 5.3 and 5.2, the highest gpas my school has ever recorded lol. They took extra classes and both got straight A+. It's extremely difficult to get A+, but these guys just obliterate tests.

We had tri-vals for the seniors this year. All three had 5.0s and tons of extracurriculars. Their SAT scores went like this: 2400 (yes, one got a perfect score; he was the first in the nation to do so), 2390, and 2310. Then the salut. had a 4.96 and a 2350 on the SAT. I mean, come on! At least they're a year ahead of me though. :)

I'm the genius kid at my school. :D Even most of the teachers recognize me as such. About GPA, there are other students with a 4.0 at my school, but their actual number averages are WAY below mine.
