I was talking about the admitting chance to colleges...u guys are way offf....gosh

oijjjang, Webb has a 42% admit rate to Ivy league and equivalents (Stanford) and a 99% admit rate to UC. So Webb can get you there, but first you have to get you there and it doesn't sound like he's done the work with that GPA. If he's recruitable, that changes things a lot, though--I don't know anything about that. Your friend should rely on Mr. Martinez who is very knowledgeable about college acceptance chances at Webb.

I took Lisa Fillmore's advice and looked up the numbers. In the categories of diversity, SATs and college admission it looks to me as if Webb is ahead of the other two California schools. In looking at the posted numbers please note the number of years over which the reported matriculations took place.

I am a big fan of Webb, since my daughter goes there, and has done very well. She has had the very finest experience, but that can't speak for everyone. Numbers were never important to us. She was admitted EA to a very good school.

There is more to a high school than admisions numbers. A top 25% kid at Webb can expect to be a contender at any school they want. Most all students can get in top schools. The opportunity at Webb should not be underestimated. The mentorship of the faculty has an large effect on the development of the student. The resources are incredible, but there is a greater question of what you do with it, and how you inspire those who come after you.

Edited to say: more to your post's intention, Webb is having a banner for ED, I'm hearing.

If you just look at the average SAT numbers, Webbs is right up there with the big boys. Webbs(1350) is just ahead of Andover(1349), St. Paul(1345), Choate(1337) and Deerfield(1335). Webbs has a smaller student body(360) so it might be easier to manage. However, Webbs' students definitely scored higher than Thatcher and Cate(both at 1290).

i know webb. our team is in the same league as webb so we play them in all the sports. i go to chadwick school in palos verdes (where they film the OC lol). webb is a good school.

Both of my sons applied to Cate, Thacher, and Webb - and were accepted by all three. They are now 11th and 12th graders at Webb and are very happy with their choice.

The 12th grader did an ED app at Harvey Mudd and was accepted.
