Do colleges look at your entire file for high school

ib scale, 7 is the best and 1 is the worst. your score are okay, what other hl's are you taking

im only taking 3 hls...

thats for the first quarter...

but i think im improving this second smester...
hopefully i get 5 or 6 for physics in this smester...

im not moving school because of my grade, its because i want to do AP, and im not really enjoying my youth life in my current school. -_-
.....

what do you think, about moving school too much..?

What's considered a good freshman year?

What colleges don't look at frosh year?

Do colleges see your actual report card? Or do they see either all of the grades you got, just the semester grades, or the year grades?

Is algebra I on your transcript if u took it in 8th grade???

The algebra probably is on the transcript if you received hs credit for it. Ask your GC or registrar for a copy of your transcript. The format is different for each school district.

if i was you, i wouldnt try to move around too much. lol im the opposite of you, I drive an extra 5 miles to go to a school that offers IB (i personally dont like AP, or the collegeboard for that matter). Are you an intl. student beeant?

yes i am an intl student, im in singapore now.

why d you like IB more than AP...?

it just lets you have a global perspective on things, plus the score you earn on the HL and SL exams include internal assessments whereas the AP tests are 100% external.

I just looked at my official transcipt that i bought about 4 weeks ago.

It has my old SAT score on it, but i took again and raised it by a large margin. Does this mean i have to order new transcripts??

one of the things that i m exited about IB is Computer science Dossier....

do you think AP also has somekind like dossier....

Many colleges look at freshman year. I know Stanford doesn't, though.

does harvard?

AP has their own work load but they dont have IAs in IB's sense. and depends on what school you are applying to, most top schools dont like seeing anything less than a 5 (thats from a barnard admission officer that visited my school)

are good colleges really demanding high grades, and gpa....?

or the most important thing is SAT?

what is basically the most important thing of college admission.?

All of the college guides agree on this. The most important thing is to take the most challenging curriculum available (AP/IB if available at your school). The second most important thing is gpa/rank, and then comes standardized test scores. SAT and SAT II are way more important than AP scores. Although as stated above, taking AP classes (if available) is very important.

After you qualify on the academic measures, they try to find unique (NOT well rounded) individuals who show "passion", long-term commitment, and achievement in one/two EC's. They evaluate you at this point from your EC's, essays, and recs. (Large public schools are more numbers driven.)

Ideally your gpa/rank matches your SAT scores. If your gpa/rank is much better than your SAT, then it appears that your high school grades easy. If your SAT is much better than your gpa/rank, then it appears that you are lazy in your classwork.

thanks dufus......

can i send you a private message to you... because i need to ask some personal things about my academics.....

yea, that would be fine

hey guys I have a question. Im a junior at a pretty good college prep high school. I did pretty good during my Freshman year but since there were only a certain amount of honor and AP clases available to take as a freshman im afraid that my GPA will be greatly affected by my freshman year. As a sophomore I did pretty well. I took the most advanced clases I could take and my GPA was a 4.79 for that year. Know as a junior im taking 4 AP's. I don't know what else I can do. I play on two varisty sports and do one or two extracurricular activities in which I've one national awards. Im just worried that all that crap won't cut it i to get into a school like Stanford or Princeton.

Also do colleges look at your freshman year?

And how well do you have to do on the SAT/ACT

My freshmen year I did average getting a 3.0 GPA
If i raise my GPA up to a 3.7 + my sophomore, junior, senior year will I be able to get into good colleges, not neccessarily ivy league.
