Do I have a half decent shot at getting in? My extracurriculars are impressive (president and founder of chem club, vice president student governement, treasurer of Students Against Destructive Decisions, Cross Country team captain since sophomore year, and a lot of other involvement throughout) I have a 4.0 gpa with a rigorous course load, especially in math and some science. I am valedictorian of my class but heres the killer... I currently have a 1960 sat (720 math, 640 reading, 600 writing) and 29 ACT, Im hoping to get both of those up a bit but obviously cant get a 2100 or anything. Thanks for your opinion!

Your SAT and ACT scores present a challenge.

The SAT writing is one of those tests on which significant improvement is possible. It takes effort and a great deal of practice. To a large extent you will need to address likely gaps in your knowledge and application of English grammar. Perhaps you can find a talented tutor who can work one-on-one with you. Make a 20 hours per week commitment. Target the last possible test for which Penn accepts scores.
