Do I have a chance? University of Michigan

In high school I was a pretty average student. Graduated with 2.5 gpa, 21 ACT (although because I had went to 3 high schools by junior year and had to take various “required for graduation” classes, I was taking different science and math class than the other 11th grade students so I was extremely unprepared in comparison). I went to Univeristy of Michigan-FLINT. Until I got expelled. I was compeletly unprepared and was dealing with a lot of depression and other things. I got expelled after failing almost all classes for 3 semesters. Note: proof of depression by a doctor was on file for a sap appeal I had done before the 3rd semester, which got approved. When things got bad again 3rd semester I had completely given up on anything, I didn’t even care to withdraw instead of getting expelled.

Ended up taking a few semesters off. Then went to CC, first semester I failed yet again. However afterwards I got 4.0 in 12 credit hrs semester. And on track to do the same this semester taking 18 credit hours.

Is it possible to get into University of Michigan as a transfer, especially since I got expelled from UM-Flint? Or should I focus my efforts on a less competitive school, mainly EMU or maybe even MSU ( relatively far though, I’d rather not.)

Is it possible to get my expulsion expunged from my transcript considering my turn-around?

Btw, majoring in computer science. UM-COE is already extremely competitive. Would just like to know if I’m dreaming here or if there’s a possibility.

My best advice would be to make an appointment with engineering admissions and have an honest talk with them. Handling 18 credits and getting all "A’s is the key here but you only proved yourself for two semesters. If I remember correctly if you transfer as a junior I don’t think they look at your high school records. Please make sure the classes you are taking all transfer to Michigan first. They are very tough on classes that have equivalent credits like math and science. You might need to still retake some classes. Also make sure you are taking the required classes to meet the transfer requirements.

Also Michigan is much harder then their sibling schools. Put yourself in the best possible position to succeed. Name of school really doesn’t matter in the long run.
