Do I have a chance?

I am currently a second year Mechanical engineering major at UGA, hoping to transfer into GaTech. I was denied out of highschool with a 4.0 and 31 ACT.
Here are some of my statistics

•I have a 3.75 GPA with 67 credit hours

•I made a C+ in calc II my first semester and it has haunted me ever since. (I fear this alone will hold me back from being accepted)

•Besides that grade in Calc II, I have made all A’s in the rest if my math, physics, etc. courses. (Multivariable, Diffeq, Physics I and II)

The following are things that I believe would improve my chances, however I do not think GaTech has anywhere to include these on the transfer application.

•I took statics with a former GT professor who now teaches at UGA, and I actually finished as one of the top 3 students in all of his sections which was about 150 students (I know this because he gives students a score report with their rank in the class).

•I am a Peer Learning Assistant for Physics II which is essentially a tutor for that class.

•I am a member of the IEEE team working on the SouthEastCon robot.

I am just wondering whether it will be worth the money to submit an application. In my opinion, I feel that GaTech will focus on my terrible Calc II grade and not see some of the things that make me look like a better student.

Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Were you going to submit an application right now for fall 2017? If you had posted this question awhile ago I would have recommended re-taking Calc II if it seemed very important.

So you took Calc II about three semesters ago? A C isn’t good for an engineering major, but if you’ve made A’s in harder math classes I don’t think they will focus on that so much. I think you have pretty good stats besides that.

I think you have amazing stats and you for sure should get in, especially if you are an instate resident. Anyways do you know how to find out if credits transfer at GT?
