Should I even apply? Does Carleton have good financial aid packages?

4.14 Weighted GPA (highest GPA in school is 4.54)
3.5 Unweighted GPA (highest GPA in school is 4.0)

SAT: 670 CR 760 M 790 W = 2220 (single sitting) and 710 CR 760 M 790 = 2260 (Superscore)

AP: 5's in Calc AB, Micro, Macro and a 3 in AP US

I have no academic awards and no Sat iis, but I have good focused extracurriculars (such as varsity basketball) and essays, and I take the toughest courseload offered at my school.

I'd say you definitely have a chance. I believe that Carleton is considered fairly generous with financial aid, however there is virtually no merit aid (only NMF scholarships). Also, once accepted, they'll meet full demonstrated need.
Good Luck

Um, I guess you have a chance, though I'm not so sure about those grades. 3.5 unweighted even with the toughest schedule is probably on the low side for most Carleton applicants. I imagine your chances would be better if you were interested in playing varsity women's bball for Carleton and contacted the coach. It looks like they have 4 seniors on the roster and will probably be aiming to replace those spots next year.

starbucks and hesterrrrrr--If you're really interested in Carleton, show them the love--let them know how sincerely interested you are. (My older daughter didn't, and was waitlisted. My younger daughter did, and was accepted.) Then show them who you really are through your essay(s). Knowing Carleton as I now do, I doubt they're wedded to sky-high stats if they can get an otherwise unique, interesting student.
