I would not put working at a packing and food company in your college app- that’s a negative. Other than that, you have a high chance

I definitely think you have a great chance, but I disagree about the job. Work experience is always good, and it shows that you could handle a high amount of work and also mantain grades, ECs, etc.

I also disagree about work experience. I think it shows an amount of diligence and professionalism to be able to hold not one, but two jobs. I also think at prestigious schools, the admissions committee will like to see such experiences, because it shows that you are a grounded person (always a good thing).

I put four years of dish washing and kitchen prep on my application at a local deli/catering restaurant and I definitely think that helped.

Otherwise, you look like a great candidate.

Agree with other posters about keeping in the job experience. I don’t think a high school student putting down any type of work experience on the college application can ever hurt them. For heaven’s sake, what type of work experience would a high school student have? Being the manager at the store? I don’t think so. The fact that you seem to be a great student, very involved in and outside of school and that you also work speaks volumes as to the type of applicant you are. I don’t normally comment on chance threads but I think that you would in all likelihood get into Wake. With a name like goldendomer I assume that you are looking at ND also (Probably would want to raise SAT/ACT score for them to be on the safe side). Best of luck to you wherever you end up, you are a very impressive candidate!

I disagree STRONGLY about withholding work experience. What high schooler really has “glamorous” work experience?

Agreed with what everyone else says concerning this fact. Working two jobs at a time might be a good essay topic if you haven’t picked one already.

Do you really think you will not get into Wake? I think your post (as many of them are) is a thinly veiled attempt to brag about your high school statisitcs. You are clearly bright, and no doubt have looked at college guides, Wake’s website, etc. and know what the most recent freshman academic profile is. Unless you are a serial killer, or are completly socially inept (and convey that in an interview), you know you are going to get in. By the way–we are all proud of your accomplishments–thank you for sharing. Feel better now?

I was just curious as to what other people thought, I honestly don’t know too much about Wake and was too lazy to look up the common data set. Please express your anger somewhere else.

A suggestion: You probably should not mention that you were “too lazy to look up the common data set” if/when you interview with Wake. No doubt that would reflect badly on you, and pretty much make much of your academic scholarship to date irrelevant. Same result as being “socially inept” as I mentioned above.

Also, just a point of clarification–no anger here. I would characterize my comments being more critical of your “boastful” manner, rather than being “angry”.
