You certainly have admissible stats. However, being an international applicant is a hard obstacle for anyone to overcome! So of course you have a shot, but you will definitely need stellar essays to convince the admissions officers you belong at MIT.

only providing toefl wont put you in a disadvantage; your status as an international will. i think MIT only has a 4% admission rate for internationals.
best of luck.

and oh yeah, when you submit SAT II's, you are automatically sending your SAT I score. sorry to disappoint you but MIT WILL see that SAT score, however bad it is.
and the last test date MIT accepts is december. i think the rest of the selective colleges take as late as the january one. i am not sure if february ACT will be in your files at all.

They do state they only consider your best scores in the application process. So do not worry about the SAT scores since your TOEFL appears to be good (though I know nothing about that test), your SAT II's are definitely worth submitting so do so!

Should I sent an extra reference letter from my research mentor as my supplementary letter or should I just leave it out?

And it is very scary that the admission rate for international applicants is just 4%. So do you have any suggestions for me to make my application stand out.

These are some other aspects of my life:
* I am an expert turing programmer (Might by funny) -- (made lots of cool program)
* I am working on a very cool design for my FIRST Robotics Team
* I run a forum website for my community
* I wrote a very good research report for DuPoint Challenge.
* I am also good at CAD drawings and have made lots of them
* I am actually planning to open a book store of my own (Not my own, my family actually, but I am making a strong contribution though)

Are those in someway make my application better. If it does, how I am I supposed to include those in my applicaiton. Like should I sent some of the source codes of my programmes, some aspects of my design, an abstract of my research report or something like that as supplmentary materials. But they are not goanna look at that many supplementary materials, will they? I need some kind of help. I will really appreciate if someone can give me some feedback.

One last question: Is it possible to send supplementary materials after the January deadline?

As I recall, admitted international students submitted SAT or ACT scores. You should check through the MIT admissions website for explicit directions. If you actually received a "10" on the SAT essay, you should submit that score. According to the College Board, fewer than 2 percent of incoming college students scored that high.

You have done many things. I think it would be good to write them up in pargraph form and give them to each of the people from whom you are asking a letter of recommendation. That way, you won't have to address them all, because others who know you can write about them on your behalf. For instance, when my daughter applied last year, she asked for a letter from the AP physics teacher who had overseen her science fair physics project. So she didn't write anything about her award-winning project, because the awards listed in the application plus the teacher's first-hand account covered it all.

MIT is serious about "mind and hand." That's not just an old motto; it's a core value. So if you have built/created things (designs, drawings, motors, robots, code, models, sculptures, original musical compositions, and so on) you should convey that, both in writing and with samples in the optional section.

MIT is hard to get into, and it's even harder for international applicants. Best of luck!

Hi, farhan88m, I'm more or less in the same situation as you are. :)
I'm also taking ACT on February in 2008 and I really hope that it can get to my application profile for consideration. I'm also taking the January SAT test, but only recently I have realized that ACT is much more suitable for me after doing of ACT practice test. I have already contacted MIT like a day ago about this but I haven't got any response from them, maybe because of Xmas.
