would anyone like to respond

please i would really appreciate it i will chance you back

I guess you can add some more schools to your matches. You have a good resume overall. Keep the trend upwards.

Tulane, Colgate, BTW, will be matches if you boost your scores.

Dartmouth is a reach, though(definitely not high reach IMO)

Good luck!

CHances?http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1606501-help-me-predict-am-i-doomed-enter-community-college-have-gap-year.html

ok thank you tht was very helpful i would like to hear some other peoples opinions…bump

We are kind of in the same boat. İ have a 3.5 GPA, upward trend. İ had personal issues. İ think you might get into BC, if you get good test scores that is. JHU might be a reach. Do you have a reason for a low GPA?

i dont really have a reason i was just very immature, i skipped a grade when i maybe shouldn’t have is the only reason i could possibly think of. I was a kid who had a lot of things handed to him and didnt realize i had to earn things for myself tell recently. I realizes that is not a very good reason because it sound like i am spoiled n it is not very relatable.

but i did not have a nasty divorce or anything along those lines i was just idiot who thought things would fall into my lap.

bump…please

The reaches are reaches alright. Syracuse might be a bit of a reach, or not. They were crazy unpredictable this year, there is a kid on the Syracuse thread who claims he got rejected with a 3.7 and a 2390, while kids 300 points below got in .

2390 and 3.7 for Syracuse? I call shenanigans. Kids at my daughter’s school got in with like 1850’s or thereabouts. Maybe the poster knocked over a bank or something. Also, how do you even get a 2390? Most of the time the curve drops you from an 800 to a 780 on a section, no? But who knows, adcomms do strange things.

Back to OP: I agree mostly with your original assessment of reaches and matches.

Your senior GPA isn’t going to have too much of an impact on your overall GPA.

anything that you guys would suggest to further cover up my low gpa. I have been trying really hard to let colleges know that i am not same kid i was freshman and sophomore year.
Thank You to those who have already replied. Post a link and I will chance back.

im gonna bump again but only because I have switched a couple on my list after some research
im taking jhu wes and hamilton off. and here is my list of addtions

High Reach( kinda just applying for the hell of it you wont know until you apply right)
Duke
penn

Reach
NYU

Match
florida state
UT

Are you merely “hoping” for a 2200? Or can you actually reasonably expect that? Because that is a very high score to be expecting unless you’re genuinely that prepared/confident.

Also, I would strongly discourage against applying to 16 schools. I would especially cut down on those high reaches/reaches and apply to more matches.

its not hopping but its more like if i live up to my potential the that is what i will score but ya i am going to cut my reaches any suggestions for some matches.

Well i would keep Dartmouth because legacy is definitely helpful. The upward trend combined with incredible test scores show that you are capable of doing hard work, but again, really aim to get phenomenal grades on the sat/act. Your GPA is definitely on the low side and if i were you i would try and explain it and show how you have matured.
