Cal State San Jose?
Cal State San Francisco?
Cal State Sonoma?

I want to become a dance teacher someday and I am looking forward to entering as a dance major to any of these schools? However, I would love to know if I must addition and how the programs will benefit me? Oh and I was wondering what is better for my career; a BFA or a BA?

Thank you! :D

I looked at the websites:

Sonoma, no admissions audition but placement audition for transfers (BA is in theater w/minor in dance)

San Jose, placement audition for BA (dance) but audition for acceptance for BFA program in Feb. of preceding winter

San Francisco, placement audition for BA (dance), no BFA

Each program is different and you really need to read the websites thoroughly.

I don’t see any programs for future dance teachers. These are programs for performance and choreography. If your goal is to teach rather than perform, I would think a BA would be good, because you could also take some psychology, child development, education and phys. ed. educator classes.

Hi, thank you very much for the help! I’m looking at their web sites right now! & since I am double majoring as well I will be taking the BA road. (: I appreciate the help!
