Just had my interview as well. Didn’t really feel like an interview though, it was just me asking questions about my interviewers experience at Cornell. Went well though
Best advice and applicants should definitely heed this.
My Son applied last week of December and surprisingly less than 2 weeks he got this email “ Informal Cornell Alumni Meeting”
What is the format of the interview ?
What are some of interesting we can ask and what questions can we expect ?
Is this a good sign for admission ?
Any inputs really appreciated
TIA
Being offered a meeting just means there are alumni in your area, nothing more.
I usually ask a student why they are applying to Cornell, why they chose their intended major, what activities they want to continue at Cornell, etc…
Most of the meeting is an opportunity for students to ask the alum questions. I’m usually asked what I liked best about Cornell, what I would go back and change, what I think makes the school unique, etc…
The alumni meetings are non evaluative. This cycle, the only thing that goes back to the university is if a meeting happened or not.
