What is the "informal interview" like? Does it actually count for anything?

It's mostly for your benefit. The person is mostly there for you to ask questions about Cornell, although they'll ask you a few questions too

is it just like the regular why cornell etc. questions?
i have mine this sunday and im so nervous!

if you cant attend the interview they scheduled for, is it possible to make another one, or is basically you cant go to it, sorry...

I actually just had mine a few days ago...I dont know how much it actually helps or hurts. I would imagine that a really good report could add a nice touch to an application, and a terrible one (you cursed the whole time and knew nothing about Cornell) could cost you admittance.

I'm screwed. I'm the most awkward person to talk to ever, and I have the strangest personality of all time, so if the person interviewing me doesn't have a sense of humor... well goodbye Cornell!

Do New Yorkers have an advantage when applying to Cornell?

i skipped my cornell interview and got a likely.

don't bother if you don't want to

I had mine yesterday morning at Barnes and Noble Cafe and honestly I'm so glad I did. She called me on Saturday, and I ended up having it the next morning since we both had busy schedules throughout the rest of the month.

She was really really cool and made it sooo relaxed that I wasn't nervous. I mean like this was the big one for me--Cornell--but somehow I wasn't nervous cause I connected with her really well. She said she got a really good vibe from me and my personality showed through well and she was going to write about that and the comments would be good. Seriously, nothing to be worried about. If you're as passionate about Cornell as I am, it will show in your interview and it can help your application. Trust.
