Do I have to send in my actual IB scores?

This is the scenario. My IB predicted grades is 43/45. But I am not very confident with hitting that......... However my teachers are.......
I attend a rather competitive school and our school year starts in January and ends in December. So in essence, I will graduate this December and matriculate next August/September.
My Midyear report will be final report as I have finished my last examinations in school already.
First year I got 38/42 and second year 41/42.
However I flunked my SAT writing section But did well for the Critical and math. SAT 2's are good too.
Teachers and counsellor rec are very strong. EC are very strong. Founded a few programs and club in school and community.
I will be taking my IB exams this November which is just 3 weeks away.

Must I submit my actual IB results after the decisions are out? I am applying EA by the way.

Thanks!

Chicago does NOT look at your SAT writing score, you are ok.

artloversplus: Thanks! How about IB results? Do I have to send it in?

if i remember correctly ALL schools do not expect final IB scores because regular IB scores do not come in after May… If you have it early, good for you, send it in when you get it.

Oh, please. A score of 33 was the 75th %tile of all IB diploma candidates last year. A 40 is the 96th %tile.

If you have your scores and you get your dipoma, SEND THEM. However, with November test dates, I don’t expect you’ll have those scores back in time for EA.

My sons’ IB program sent actual scores from junior year to colleges, but did not send predicted scores. Horrors – he had a 4 on an SL junior year!!! (But a 5 & 4 on the corresponding APs and As in the class – the only thing we can figure is that he misread the directions somewhere along the way.) He was admitted to Chicago EA.

Define “flunking” the SAT Writing – there is no failing score!

If you want college credit based on your IB scores you need to submit the real scores to whichever school you end up attending.

My S’s IB program didn’t do predicted scores==I don’t know if they sent scores from Jr year or not. I doubt this is a major factor in admissions decisions since most applicants are not IB students and most of those that are don’t get the real scores until long after the admissions decisions have been made anyway.

I don’t think you need to submit your final IB scores once you’re accepted, unless you want credit for something or want to fulfill language competency. Go ahead and send them in - and don’t worry about the predicted vs. actual. Good luck with the exams!

Thanks everyone! Appreciate your replies and well wishes! :)

zakuropanda has the correct answer here: final IB scores are not required after decisions if you do not want credit.

I was a IB student. I think it helped me to gain admissions by submitting my predicted grades. The final IB scores were only used for gaining course credits.

Thanks! I feel more confident now! I shall ace the IB :)
