Do I have to take physics AP?

I am currently a junior in high school, trying to get into Rutgers Pharmacy. I have taken chem 2AP and am planning to take bio 2AP next year. I do not plan on taking physics AP, but is it a necessary course to take in order to be accepted into Rutgers Pharmacy? Will it lower my chances of getting in?

I think it would, physics is pretty important.

for your major bio AP would be fine you cant go wrong with either choice IMO

Have you taken regular high school physics? If so, you should be fine, doesn’t have to be an AP course. Even if it isn’t required for admission, having a background of physics in high school will help you handle this notoriously difficult course in college if it is required for pharmacy.

Is Pharmacy an undergrad major? Can’t you take physics in college?

Pharmacy is not an undergrad major.

Pharmacy schools care about what coursework you take while in college, not high school. Beware that AP credit is not always accepted for fulfillment of prerequisites. If you get AP credit for a prerequisite, chances are you will need to substitute with upper level courses in that discipline.

If you’re interested in applying to Rutgers Pharmacy school through their 0-6 program or a smaller NJ college that Rutgers has an articulation agreement with, your high school coursework does matter. Chem bio and physics are the trifecta of sciences that are really beneficial to take at least one of. If you take a regular Physics, I don’t think it will lower your chances but AP wouldn’t hurt.
