Do I need to add personality to the supplement about the Richmond Guarantee?

Hello all, I am adding the finishing touches to my essays, and I am particularly troubled by the Richmond supplement. I chose to go with the “How will you use your Richmond Guarantee?”, and I wrote about what I would like to research. Therefore, my essay is fairly scientific. Out of necessity, I spend much of my word budget defining what I would like to research. This leads to a fairly stale essay! Does anyone know if it is really necessary for the supplement to ooze with personality? Richmond will also be receiving my common app essay, which is a personal story that I feel reveals a lot about who I am. This is why I wonder if my supplement even needs to have much personality. Do they want to see a more academic side of me through this supplement?

The question is geared toward a non-personal response, in my opinion. You are good, especially since your main CA essay is personal.

Personally, I (applying this year also) will be avoiding that question. I will be picking the one that says to make your own question.

You can answer the question however you wish, but I would try to have it show your personality more. They aren’t looking for a research proposal. They just want to know what interests you and how the Richmond Guarantee might play into that.

I just started writing it and I have no idea…
