For the 2012-2013, we had 3 kids in college. They all had amazing academic/athletic scholarships. We rejected all the loans (unsubsidized).

For 2013-2014, we will "only" have 2 in college (Oldest is graduating in May 2013 and has a job). So my EFC will rise. Given I don't want any more loans (I've remortgaged my house a few years ago at 2.5% interest and have CDs/Cash to pay the upcoming college bills; which I know everyone says "don't do it"... but it's done now), Do I really have to fill out the FAFSA? I'm thinking there is no upside....
Thoughts?

You only have to fill pit the Fafsa ( and any other forms) if you need financial aid to put you kids through college. Some schools may ask you to submit the Fafsa for merit $

I attended a FAFSA class a few years ago and someone asked this very question. Their response was to ALWAYS complete the form in case your financial situation would change throughout the academic year. For example: If lose your job next week, you could ask the school to reconsider your aid. Doesn’t mean they can/will give you anything, but the completed form gives you the option. If you have missed the deadline date (March 15?), your options are gone for the year.
