Do I stand a chance for WFU?

hey guys do you think I have a chance at Wakeforest? I'd love to go to Wakeforest and would like to know if there should be any improvements in my area and see where I stand.

I'm a junior right now at at private catholic all boys school.

I have a 3.7 weighted GPA with 1720 SAT - 560 reading 600 math 560 writing. I'll take SATs twice more and ACT too to see how much I get more.

My school has a tough grading scale 92-100 is A, 84-91 is B, and 77-83 is C and they let colleges know that we have a tougher grading scale.. If 91 and 90s were As I'd have so much higher GPA by now :/

Almost all of my classes are Honors classes and I've taken 2 AP class this year and
planning on taking 4 next year.

I'm the advertisement manager in the school's Asian American Club, I'm also in the Leadership club, art club, environmental club, varsity swimming manager, and a student council officer and plan on running for school vice president this year, I've done my volunteer service work at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Hopsital and also at a local soup kitchen.

I'm also very into my school's art club, (and not to brag but) I'm considered one of the school's best artist and my teacher recommends that I go to Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) but I'd like to keep options open and art school isn't the biggest option for me since I'd like to major in psychology or environmental science.

you should get your SAT scores up a bit and if you can’t get them to the 1900 range with that GPA then i wouldn’t send them in. If you get 1900 or above and get that GPA up a bit, then id say you’re good to go

thank you AC1460!

I agree with AC1460, and I think you will improve much by just taking the SAT again. Sometimes, that beginning of junior year SAT score is misleading, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with your next score. Best of luck!

here is a good example of what njmom said. i took the SAT’s october of my junior year and got a 1840. By the third time i took them in march, i got a 2050 in one sitting and in that sitting i got all my best (610 cr, 760 m, 680 w) Taking it multiple times helps you greatly and helped me get my score up by 210 points! if you can do that, which i think you can b/c of those grades, you’ll be completely fine

btw, in my first sitting, i got the exact same CR and Writing as you did (560) and i got them up to 610 and 680, respectively by the third time. if you can do that, you’ll be at 1890 and you can definitely get that math up so it is a HIGH possibility that you will get a 1900 or better. Good luck!!!

yea get that SAT up. but njmom is one hundred percent right. On my PSATs at the beginning of junior year I got a 1820. Then when I took the real ones I got a 2040, and that was with no chances or preparation. After a little prep and second go around I had a combined score of 2120. So its not hard to increase your score.

changes* sorry
