Temple is by far my top choice school, however I’m really on the fence over whether or not I’ll get in.
I come from a highly competitive Catholic school in PA. My GPA at the school is a 3.1 (mostly As and Bs with 2 Cs freshman year). However when using my transcript to recalculate my gpa using neighboring public schools grading scales, my GPA comes out to about a 3.5 (to giv e you an idea of how competitive the school is). I’ve taken mostly honors courses, everything else has been CP. I have not taken any AP classes.
SAT is a 1230, 570 in math and 660 in reading.
Extracurriculars: varsity tennis all 4 years, captain senior year, 50+ hours of volunteer, French and recycling clubs. I’ve also worked a part time job at a retirement/nursing home for the past 2 years, (which is what I wrote my essay on and how it has change my outlook through the daily interactions with the residents. People have said the essay is very good)
Do I stand a chance? Applied early action in Sept, and have visited 3 times making sure to have conveyed its my top school and if accepted I’d attend. Any feedback is appreciated Thanks, Scared out of his mind senior.
