<p>Well, I've done a fair amount of research on various colleges, especially ivy league and other extremely competitive ones, and I would like others' opinions concerning my chances of acceptance. My top choice schools include: Harvard (legacy status from father), MIT (I am interested in linguistics, so I'm hoping to convey this interest in hopes of demonstrating my uniqueness from the typical math/engineering enthusiasts), and U Chicago. I will also apply to Brown, U Penn, and Yale most likely, as well as less competitive schools which I'm not concerned about.
My stats:
Academic:
GPA (unweighted): 3.9+; Secondary School: Extremely rigorous magnet school, ranked 23 in naition for public schools; Class rank: My school doesn't have class rank, but I know I'm at least top 10% (Plus, this is what our guidance counselor puts on everyone's applications.); SAT: Verbal:740 Math: 800 Writing: 720; SATII: Haven't taken any yet, but I'll give an estimate based on the practice tests I've taken. Physics: 750-800 Math II: 750-800 Spanish: 800; APs: Haven't received scores yet from this year's tests, but I'm confident I've made a 4 or 5 on Lang. and Comp., Spanish, and Physics B. I am also enrolled in Physics C, Calc. BC, Econ., Lit. and Comp., and Spanish Lit. for next year, all of which I'm assuming to make 4 or 5s on.
Awards:
Harvard Book Award (not quite sure how this will be weighed), National Merit Commended Student, Dept. Awards multiple times in Spanish, Honor Roll multiple times, Various Writer's Showcase awards, National Honor Roll
