Do most colleges give weight to PSEO grades?

Having sent my two older boys to college a few years ago, I am much more calmer about my last son’s college admission. I know that colleges are not impressed with AP courses that the student tested and received a 1 in (for signing his name) or didn’t test at all.
They don’t pay much for being president of this or that, which can become a blood sport resulting in co-pres and co-vice pred boloney. Our validictorian last year was touted as taking 5 AP courses (which fluffed her GPA) but didn’t pass any tests. Despite her stellar
record of captain and president etc. she did not receive a dollar in merit aid from the college. The HS did, of course, give her first year awards.

In conclusion, enrich your children to keep them enthusiastic about school. They will test out on the college exams better, and end up benefiting from a challenge. Don’t get upset if they aren’t chosen and the cream of the grade. Your student will blossom in college and
those that were always recognized will often crumble.
