How are financial aid packages effected by outside scholarships beyond freshman year? If they are renewable, does the school take it into account and increase the student portion of financial aid sophomore year? My daughter has $6000 renewable outside scholarships for each year in college. This year, she was provided a $3500 Perkins loan and $10,000 University aid. I understand the scholarships will be applied to the loan and the rest applied to the school aid not our EFC. If our EFC does not change next year, do colleges usually take into account the outside money and increase her portion to $9500 (6,000 + 3500?) or would it remain approximately the same? Thanks for the help!

it will approximately remain same.
