Do people get rescinded due to a dropped class?

Hello all,

I have recently posted about fall 2018 alternatives but I have another question about rescinding.

I took AP Statistics at for one semester (I am a senior) and got a C in the class for the semester but I know it would have been lower if I took it for this semester so I dropped it for another honors statistics class. I dropped it because the course is very rigorous at my high school. Does Maryland need to know that I dropped the course and what are the chances that I will be rescinded?

My GPA was strong for the first semester and I am still taking two other AP’s after dropping the class. I was also spring admitted for reference but will most likely be doing Freshmen Connection or Freshmen Abroad at UMD. I have also took a weighted Calculus class senior year.

Thanks,

It shouldn’t be a problem, just don’t flunk anything.

You would be best off letting the school know now that your dropped the course. Colleges do have the right to re -review an application if classes are dropped so it is best to be proactive. If admissions says it is fine then get it in writing (email is fine).
