title asks it all

I would assume so, particularly if people did bad or unsatisfactory the first time around. They would then practice over the summer and get a higher score. Also people learn a little more before the SAT’s. I also assume that the Curves for the October test would probably be a little harsher.

The curves are no easier or harder…that’s what it means to be a STANDARDIZED test.

I’ve seen it go both ways. I’ve had a lot of kids study like crazy for the May test, for example, and then decide to try it one more time in November on a whim once they’ve visited a reach school they really liked, and their scores have gone down. I’ve also seen kids bust their humps over the summer and drastically improve senior year.

If you’re planning now to take the test in the fall, don’t rely on superstitions that you’ll magically do better. Start looking for patterns in your mistakes, and see about turning your weaknesses into strengths. By the time the fall comes around, the test won’t know what hit it when you take it again. :)
