I was reading Fiske's and it stated that professors at Carnegie Mellon make sure material is understood. Does that mean that they repeat stuff over and over again if a few people don't get it?

Not sure what Fiske’s is, but professors at CMU – like at any other college – have a wide range of teaching styles. Some will take extra care to make sure all students understand material, including having extra study sessions and attending all labs themselves (lecture is rarely the place where material gets repeated, due to time constraints). Others are… less motivated and will leave extra tutelage to their TAs.

Thank you.
