Do the top colleges care if you quit a significant activity in favor of a better one?

For the past two years (I'm a junior now) I've been doing a competition called HOSA. I haven't been doing bad but not great either. I won 1st in city (Houston) and went on to state but won nothing there. This happened for 9th and 10th grade. Now I'm considering dropping it for an activity I like better, research. I'll be competing in a few research competitions and I'm confident I can win one. Research looks way better than HOSA.

My only question is will top colleges look revoltingly at the fact that I stopped competing in HOSA? Will they think I'm a quitter?

no

.

Not at all

no, not at all

No, but make sure you do your research well, lots of depth, lots of awards  otherwise, it would’ve been better for you to stick with HOSA, colleges do value 4-year (and in general long-term) ECs

^that’s what I was thinking. I won’t take the risk so I’ll just do both I guess. Extra work but anything for my dream college I guess.
