I chose to sent my ACT scores automatically to the colleges before I even took it and when I got my score back today, I saw that I did poorly. Will colleges look at both the SAT and ACT scores and take both into consideration or will they just look at the better score?

I meant send* bump

Depends on the college. Some of the elite colleges will care about your previous tests attempts, while some colleges will only look at you highest scores. Look up their test scores policy on the college website, almost all colleges will display that information publicly.

But if they see you did better on your SAT than on your ACT, will your ACT have a negative affect on your application or will they just consider the better score (the SAT)?
