Hello - Want to know if we apply for Early Decision to Public or Private schools, will we be considered for scholarship? I hear that usually schools do not offer any scholarship/money for early decision acceptances.
Are you asking if schools consider or award scholarships specifically because a student applied or was accepted early decision, or if students admitted through early decision are eligible for and as likely to get scholarships as non ED students? Please clarify.
Typically, students who apply ED are not given merit awards. There are some colleges who do give merit ED. There are also some colleges that will tell you before applying how much merit money you might get.
The issue is often that if the student applies ED, there is no incentive for the college to entice the student with a merit award. They know the student is committed to attending, regardless of the cost.

Run the NPC before applying.
Can you get one - sure. Will the schools tell you that you’ll get one, some will even say the same - sure.
Do you want to roll the dice and be locked into something you cannot afford?
That’s up to you.
If one is seeking or chasing merit or will only consider schools at a certain price point, then the ED gimmick is not for you.
Define scholarship.
Need-based aid – Yes, students admitted ED get financial aid in accordance with the school’s financial aid policy.
Non-need-based award – Unlikely. Merit money is not typically a prize for good grades. Rather, it’s offered to incentivize the student to enroll. Students admitted ED are required to enroll, ergo, no merit money incentive is needed. That said, there may be cases where ED applicants can apply for competitive scholarships. But if you’re looking for that, ED is not an option because you have to enroll with or without the scholarship.
