Specifically the university grants, will they be renewed every year? I'm just worried that if I go, I would receive financial aid for the first year but none at all for the subsequent years. Would this happen?

yup, my package has remained the same (or gotten better) every year

I am wondering the same thing, which is the deciding factor in attending USC or not. I received a 20k university grant for this year, partly because my brother is attending college at the same time as me next year. When he graduates in 2014, will I continue to receive this grant annually?

Every year your parents will fill out financial aid info (FAFSA/CSSprofile) to receive your financial aid package for the coming year. Will your package change? If your parents income changed (higher or lower) from the previous year, then yes, the package could change (higher or lower). Did your sibling graduate and is no longer in college? Then yes, your package will most likely change (your EFC will no longer be split by the two of you). You usually get the most aid when multiple siblings are in college at the same time. Did your parents’ savings/stocks have a great year or home value appreciate greatly? Then your financial aid package would change.

Read through the financial aid sticky on this forum-- it is a great resource of information about USC financial aid.
