I’m currently a student at both City College Of San Francisco & Foothill College.
At Foothill, I have 25 quarter units, consists of mostly A’s & B’s
At Ccsf, I have 20 semester units done, HOWEVER, I do have 5 W’s from when I first started here back in 2014.
I want to transfer the units I have from CCSF to Foothill College.
NOW, my questions is…
Will the 5 W’s that I have transfer over to my Foothill transcript as well?
Not sure what you mean by transfer over. You’re gonna have a separate transcript for each school. But when you eventually apply to a 4-year, they will look at EVERY single grade you’ve ever received in college. So the Ws will always follow you, unless you can get academic renewal. Tho if the rest of your grades are good, and the 5 Ws aren’t ALL in major prereqs, you should be fine for the UCs and CSUs. I’ve heard that public schools, at least the CSUs and UCs, tend to see Ws are benign. 5 to me seems to be bordering on a lot, but I’ve heard of plenty students that have gotten into the top UCs with more than that.
Every single class will follow you to where you eventually end up as you’ll provide each university you apply to copies of every single one of your transcripts. That said, the W is pretty irrelevant to your next community college’s transcripts.
UC’s don’t care about W’s - and they will care even less given that your W’s were from early on in your academic career. Don’t worry about them, just focus on getting good grades now. And you can explain the W’s in your application(s) if you’d like.
