My Dad is a Muslim convert (so I go to mosques a couple times a year)
Really small private school
No financial aid needed and I could be a likely donor after I graduate

Possible Major/Minor: Secondary Ed, Pre-Med, African Music (do they have that?), Biological Anthro

I'm gonna right real good essays
I know my teachers really good so they'll write good recs

So, what y'all (I did it again, I really WILL fit in) think???

I've traveled to every continent except for Asia, Australia, and South America, and Antarctica

^ how is that significant??

Minority (my great-grandpa was born in Australia and my grandma was born in Canada, but then moved to New York when she was 4)
^ that too? thats not minority. thats nationality.

I dont know what to say.

Sorry, I didn't realize that I'd only been on 3 continents and after I wrote that I thought it was kind of funny...lol...i guess not.

And my family exhibits a lot of Canadian and Australian pride, but I guess that doesn't matter.....so, again, sorry

Still, any thoughts.....?

Emphasize what makes you different in your essays. Have you visited? Have a really good reason for why you want to go there.

Re-take the SATs...the main parts are CR and Math and those need to be improved to, at the least, +1350.

Vanderbilt just brought on several prominent professors of African-American literature, so they might be interested in students who show interest in that area.

yeah, and then you can switch out of that area once you're in. or does that not work? I actually know one person who is switching from peabody to a&S but don't know whether he was planning to do that or not.

Don't fake interest. Chances are that the admissions officers will see right through you.

certainly, the OP shouldn't fake anything! But it sounds from her senior year schedule like she does have an interest in that subject.

to start things of, make sure that you have someone edit your papers so that there are no grammatical errors or slang. next, retake the SATs...your writing score is phenomonal! However, they will mostly be looking at the reading and math scores. you are going to want to improve those.

Please don't use any of these hooks =(

Hooks???
Minority (my great-grandpa was born in Australia and my grandma was born in Canada, but then moved to New York when she was 4)
My Dad is a Muslim convert (so I go to mosques a couple times a year)
Really small private school
No financial aid needed and I could be a likely donor after I graduate

Minority? Where? I don't see it.
Muslim as a hook won't work, as almost 50% of the internationals at Vandy are muslims (undergrad).
"No financial aid needed and I could be a likely donor after I graduate "
And how is this a hook?

African Drumming and Rhythmic Studies???? You sure took odd classes. While I'm sure these classes were interesting, I don't know if Vanderbilt would necessarily see these classes as challenging.

I'm sorry, but I doubt you'll get in. Antarctican History? What is that? Is it like Geology or something. There are lots of schools you could get into though and then transfer to a school like Vandy if you do well.

If the 3 words you're using to describe yourself are: rich, white, and good-looking...not only are you pretentious, but you don't deserve a college education. College is about finding yourself, not forcing yourself into molds and thinking you're better than those around you. Students will eat you apart if you go in w/ that attitude. Also, an 800 on SAT writing is shocking to me, seeing that you wrote "i'm gonna right real good essays." catch the error?

There are really two errors. "Right" should be "write". If I assumed correctly that "real" should modify good, then it should be really.
