Do you get embarrassed when you look back at your old posts?

Haha, I remember my "what are my chances thread." It was quite embarrassing, really. Though Ben Golub said that I had pretty good chances at Caltech, I ended up looking really neurotic and misguided.

I also posted one of those threads for Chicago.

Kind of, not really. My old username was deleted from the old CC forums, so I had to make a new one anyway.

haha yes. really. it's kinda funny to look back on some of the posts though. (and I plan on disappearing and reappearing with a new username sometime during junior year)

No, but on messageboards that I've been on for about 4 years, yes

It also kind of depends on the forum environment. I don't feel bad ranting about the school system since I know that no one's going to see my ranting (and I am very caustic about the educational system). But if say, someone from real life comes and sees my posts, then I'd be embarrassed.

School rants are very common on online forums. Hahaha, they're the best place to post them.

Yes, sometimes I do.

I've had multiple other names. On one i, like many other people, did a chances thread which was a disaster. Now I just laugh at how ignorant i was. I also remember getting into a fight with either ChaosTheory or Jonathan but for some reason I think it was the latter. Needless to say I made a new username after that. Then I also got into a fight about how newsweek ranks high schools. Although most of those thinks (besides the chances threads) were my true opinions, I realized i should keep some things to myself on here and learn how to get my points across in a more pleasant manner.

yeah... I try not to look at my old posts.
and the sad thing is it hasn't even been a year.
I did have another username before this one, but hardly any posts.

haha probably. i should make a new account soon before people start thinking i'm a rich spoiled brat, which tends to be the general impression of people, at least according to some of the pms i've gotten : )

Yes. I also find your mis-spelling of my name rather amusing. I remember when I used to pay only slight attention to the names of forumers (and went about remembering them subvocally, rather than by profile idiosyncrasies)- I ended up confusing forumers with similar names to each other.

In any case, I changed my name because I wanted an easier way to search through my old posts using the forum search engine (with only 250 maximum).

I used to be thisyearsgirl, but I'd really rather no one look me up. :o

I'm also embarrassed about some of my posts between Ivy decisions and tonight, but I think I've rebounded, mostly.

Inquilinekea- hahaha i spell EVERTHING WRONG!

Like your last post ^^

Excellent n00b reading for the bored:

Not really, but I did use an excessive amount of “:)” in my early days.

HL, I hate when you bump old posts and give me hope that people are back :p.

Anyway, yes I do. Especially most posts from 8th grade (2004?). There was a time when I cared more about the name of a college than the college itself and worried constantly about what would “look good” to colleges rather than doing what would make me happy. shudder glad those days ended around 9th grade :).

^^I did as well. There are some embarrassing posts that I’ve made. The amount of emoticons that I used to incorporate into my posts was also somewhat excessive.

I’m embarassed that I posted a chance me thread when I first got on here. Other than that I don’t mind much because I don’t really run into my old posts mostly because I don’t really go looking for them.
