Do you get smarter as you grow?

<p>I know this is a weird question, but is it possible that your sat score naturally gets better as time passes and you go on to higher grades? For example, if your averaging a 650 on math is it possible that you can get a 700 naturally if you take the math test again if you take it a year later without prepping?</p>

<p>Assuming your development is normal, you are getting smarter until well past the teenage years (I believe the peak in fluid intelligence is late in one’s 20’s). I don’t know how this cognitive improvement translates quantifiably to increases in SAT scores, however.</p>

<p>From what you’re asking, you sound like a kid who isn’t in high school yet but has taken the SAT and is wondering if your score will rise by the time your in high school.</p>

<p>I can tell you from my own personal experience that my SAT score rose by a good 400 points from 7th grade to 11th grade, without prep.</p>

Yes, because you learn more math and thus quicker ways to solve problems. You’re also generally able to solve more.</p>
