Do you go to regional information sessions in your town?

We've gone to the info sessions from individual schools and the regional college fairs (both general and performing arts).Honestly,if you think its an opportunity to make personal contacts that are anything more than fleeting, you are mistaken. Maybe its because we're in the NY metropolitan region but these events are packed.Nobody representing a school is going to remember your kid's face and they are far too busy to take more than a moments time with you.
All that aside,D did find the performing arts specific fair valuable as it was much more major specific. And the year she attended a session for USC the presenter happened to be associated with the School of Music and was able to give her an aside comment about not bothering to apply to the flute studio for the next year...faculty weren't going to take any new freshmen.
