I like reading but I never make a habit of it. I like to read books in as few sittings as possible, and there isn’t much time to do that during the school year. I also enjoy newspapers when I do pick them up, but I rarely do.

On an unrelated note, I find it amusing to read college newspapers when I go on visits. Colleges generally claim that whatever stereotypes there are about them are really nonexistent. -visit MIT- -find editorial on people needing to be more friendly-

besides my ap bio prep book (darn, you sure know us cc’ers), i’m reading the arabian nights. as you probably know, there are 1000 stories. I got the first volume as a christmas present and i’m still on story number 23…

I know it’s the biggest excuse, but I genuinely have had no free time. I’m a very busy person, and frankly, it’s not my top priority. No shame though, I’m fulfilled in regard to what I do spend my time with. I also have pretty bad ADHD so once I start reading a book it doesn’t last for long… I have to read full books in very small increments. Luckily I like the books I’m reading in my AP Lit class. Finishing up Crime and Punishment now. Last year I got about halfway through a biography I really need to pick up again. It’s about one of my biggest inspirations and it’s way too interesting to not read. Now that college auditions and the musical are over I have some time back, so after C&P I’ll be simultaneously reading the AP Lit drama selection and the rest of the bio, maybe even along with Orwell’s 1984.

As much as I love literature, I pretty much have no time during the school year to read. However, I read shorter works such as articles, poetry, and short stories all the time.

Also, my school district is weird and gives us a lot of week long breaks, during which I read compulsively :3

(edit) Part of me wants to continue reading throughout the school year, but another part of me warns against it. Last year, I took about 4 months to read Lolita, and by then, I couldn’t remember what happened in the beginning. The book was ruined.
