Do you guys tell your SAT/ACT scores to your teachers?

Do you guys tell your SAT/ACT scores to your teachers?

Uh… no. But your guidance office gets your results.

sooo it would be pointless to include my sat scores on a resume essay thing for my teahcers to write recommendation letters?

Your application will already have your SAT and/or ACT score on it. There is no need for a teacher to repeat the stats in their recs, but even if you just want the teacher to know you worked hard or are smart enough to do well on the SAT/ACT you should have proven this in class while working with this teacher. A rec is supposed to be more about a teacher’s personal experience with you. You would be better off including a good test /paper from the specific class in your resume in order to remind the teacher how well you did in their specific class. Remember, you don’t want your recs to just turn into a review of the rest of your app.

A recommendation letter that includes “Oh this student got a 2200 on the SAT” equates to a form letter. (aka impersonal) Get your teacher to comment on your work ethic, behavior, etc - something personal

I absolutely disagree with the “Get your teacher to” phrasing, but this is essentially true. However, your SAT score absolutely belongs in a resume that you’re writing to a teacher for a recommendation.
