Do you guys think this is a good place to study spanish?

Duolingo.com. It's a site created by the same guy who created captcha. The concept is that there's a set of professionally written amount of practice excercises, and then you can practice further by translating books.

I think my main problem is orthographical (accents, spelling, and odd vocabulary words), although I do have a book of spanish grammar rules. And duolingo is mostly a rote memorization site, which I think is excellent for these types of things. I'm a native spanish speaker, so I don't have much a problem with speaking; and the book excerpts can count as my reading.

I'm asking this in the middle of summer because I need to take an ap-spanish like test in the middle of august. Also, if you'd like, you can also discuss the other languages in the site (german, french, and spanish > english). Although I guess what I'm really wondering is, is there a heavy grammatical emphasis on the AP spanish test, or is it something that a native speaker could get through?

What…? You’re a native Spanish speaker and you need to look this up? What country you from?

It’s fine. You can use it, but I wouldn’t use it as your main study tool. There are other, more effective ways to learn Spanish.

The emphasis on the AP Spanish test is on your abilities to understand and produce the language. It’s not fill in the blank with the correct conjugation. You have to be able to respond to two essay prompts and speak as well. You have to listen and read too.

I would suggest lyricstraining.com to help you with your listening skills. Also, read elmundo.es

try busuu.com. You can converse with Spanish-speakers from around the globe. If you’re a girl, though, be careful. I don’t know why, but there are a lot of creepy men out there.
