Do you have to report all community college transcripts?

Hello!

Do you have to report all community college transcripts on college applications, such as UC application, common app application, and CSU application? Is it required?

Yes.

What if you were able to receive high school credit for it on your high school transcript? Do you still have to then?

Yes

Could you expand on why?

Colleges you apply to want to see all previous college records.

What if you took them when you were in middle school/very early high school and are worried how they will come off on your application because you have matured since then?

If you have matured since then you would realize that when they ask you for any college classes taken you report them all not just those you like the grades of. Seriously though, college classes in middle school? Was this a class you were really interested in and could not find in your regular school progression? Were you trying to accelerate in a math or science sequence? The optics will vary based on the circumstances. Maybe with a few more details the experienced posters might be able to help a little more.

It was a class I was really interested in. I got a “B.” And I had withdrawn from the second one. The issue with me showing these classes on my transcript is that I have recently withdrawn from a class I took in high school because it was not related to my major at all (and the teacher could not teach, which impacted all of our grades)! So with a W on the community college transcript from 9th grade and a W from this past semester, I’m feeling very nervous even though I know I am academically strong.

You have to report all of them. If you’re nervous about a B or a couple of W’s on your transcript imagine how nervous you’ll be if you don’t report them and the colleges find out about it through the National Clearinghouse. Lying on your application can get your acceptance rescinded before you start or get you expelled after you’ve started classes. If you’re expelled you’ll be considered a transfer student at many schools, and transfers generally don’t get much aid. It’s in your best interest to just tell the truth.

I wouldn’t worry. Of course report the classes. You’re not the first nor the last high schooler to take a college class and not do well for a variety of reasons that I will not get into. Focus on your high school transcript and good luck. I’m sure once in college you will do much better in college level classes, and colleges know that.
