Do you HAVE to report an SAT score??

Please explain the process. Will that score be on your record forever?? If you do horribly on it can you choose not to send it to schools?

From the CB website:

We send a cumulative report of all scores that are available and reportable at the time your request is received. You cannot send only your latest or highest SAT scores, or separate scores for critical reading, mathematics, or writing sections, or only SAT, or only Subject Test scores.

Unless you cancel, that is - but you have to cancel before you receive your scores.

What if you don't tell College Board to send your scores to a particular college?

nope. you have to send them all, or send none.
this includes sending SAT IIs as well. They see EVERYTHING: SAT I AND SAT II.

you tell the CB what schools to send your scores to- those schools will recieve all scores for tests taken, schools you don't want scores sent to will not receive

the CB only sends in scores (all of them) to schools you tell them to

sometimes, at your HS, they also send in your scores, so if you don't want them sent, you might need to request that at the HS

at my Ds school, the scores are on the back of the transcript, and if you don't want them included with the transcript, the student fills out a form

these are not "official scores", but it is what some schools do, so be sure and check with your school about what they send with the transcripts
