<p>When colleges ask "Do you intend to pursue need-based financial aid?" does this affect their admissions decision? My parents probably make around 200k combined so I doubt I will get any financial aid but if it doesn't affect admissions I might as well select yes...even a few hundred or thousand dollars of aid wouldn't hurt. I am applying mostly to selective Ivy colleges i.e. HYPMS and others like WashU and Duke.</p>
<p>Try their cost calculator first. You are not likely to get any need-based aid. If a school claims to be need-blind, it should not affect their decision either way. In you case, I don’t see why you would say you want need-based aid.</p>
