Do you judge a college by it's website?

Stanford's is nice, as is Amherst's.
I really hate Harvard's and MIT's websites... I wouldn't completely cross off a school if it had a bad website but if it isn't compatible in my browser I might (I use Firefox...)

I hate going on a "Virtual Tour" at college web sites which show you lots of photos of students in labs and classrooms, as if they don't look similar at all colleges. They need to show you what the campus and the outside of the buildings look like...some people get more inspired by gothic or Georgian or modern or other architecture. The place is going to be your home for 4 years...you need to like the way it looks at least a little bit.

I definitely don't make a complete judgement of a school by their web site, but I take note. Does the school seem to advocate a friendly environment for students, or do they seem like "it's hard to get in here, you probably won't be accepted. Look at how great we are!"? I also take a look at how easy it is to find things, the organization, etc.

I must say, I love Carnegie Mellon's UG site (even though I didn't apply), Cornell, NYU, and Emerson.

I like the bus thing for CMU. They make Pittsburgh look like heaven.
