do you judge your peers who drink/smoke/do drugs?

one thing about drinking that I hate is when someone who is a responsible drinker thinks it's ok to drink in front of 8 year olds just because they are not getting drunk

I think weed and alcohol is fine as long as it is in moderation (hookah too). Anything else, I may judge.

I used to (when I was a freshman), but now as a senior I don't really care. I still don't drink or smoke, but I know that I'll probably drink when I go to France and in college. I think that getting "completely wasted" EVERY single weekend is stupid... but if one of my friends were to get really drunk, I doubt that I'd think any less of them.
I have asthma, so I could never smoke (and I wouldn't want to, either), but I have friends who do, and it doesn't bother me. They can do whatever they want, as long as they don't try to pressure me into doing it, too.

I think I'm more inclined to judge the people in this topic for judging those drink and smoke and do drugs.

I hardly hold anything against people who drink and smoke. Obviously, alcohol and more so smoking are acquired tastes, so what annoys me is the fact that a lot of teenagers force themselves to like it just so they can fit in (drunken facebook pics anyone?). A little bit of alcohol is fun though since it loosens tension, but drinking to the point of vomiting/sickness is dumb.

I don't judge if they're just doing it at home and not hurting anyone.

I do, however, think driving drunk is completely irresponsible.

As long as the only person they're going to hurt is themselves, it doesn't matter, but once they start endangering other people, they become huge jerks.

illuminar i completely agree with you...these types of posts disgust me....

I judge people who drink for the sake of getting drunk. If you drink and you're underage, but you're drinking for the taste, I'm okay with it. Otherwise, you're just making yourself look like an idiot, and that's sad.

I hate cigarettes. I think they should be banned, because they don't do any good for anyone. They give smokers cancer, they give people around smokers cancer, they smell bad, they make your teeth yellow, and they make you cough uncontrollably. Oh, and packs are $5 or more. Why would anyone start such a disgusting habit?

I admit that I judge people whether or not they do those things, and although I do not consciously think that people who drink or smoke are worse, I probably do unconsciously. For most drugs, I do that consciously.

judging people's clothes is way more fun than judging their substance choices... :)
lol
i judge, but it's definitly on character. i'd take talking to a pothead with good ideas and a fun personality (yes, there are smart and interesting potheads...all you have to do is step into my ap stats class) over a totally clean and boring person. There's nothing wrong with a little fun once in a while.

Hmm...good question.

Drinking-No, I don't, not unless they constantly talk about getting drunk or something like that.

Smoke-I don't know, because I don't know any people in my school who smoke (though there are probably people who smoke). I probably would judge them a little.

Drugs-Yes, I do judge them.

I don't judge them, in fact I generally don't judge people at all. I'm very open-minded and receptive to different ideas. Besides from substance, I do not judge people based on their nationality, religion, clothing, appearance, upbringing, etc. It is a matter of tolerance and kindness.

No. There are plenty of people that smoke a bit, drink a bit, do drugs a bit. That isn't necessarily indicative of their future. Take a look at Obama. He did cocaine, marijuana, etc but now he's a thriving politician.

To all of those who base judgment on whether or not the kids are smart about it or stupid and wasted all the time: thanks for your rationality.

To all those who judge drinkers regardless (especially those who call it throwing your future away??): i honestly dont see why you judge. sure, the kids who drink/smoke every night and skip class because of it, we all judge them to an extent, whether we choose to or not. it's our subconscious. but for those of you who think all drinkers are irresponsible or wasting their future, how can you openly admit to judging them? do you honestly believe they are less of a person than you? as far as the future is concerned, i drink a couple times a month, and i have good grades, a 35 act, and im a national merit finalist. i only say to this to prove a point, not to brag about anything, but am i wasting my future because i drink and i'm responsible about it? because i think i'll be a fairly successful individual.

I drink and smoke pot maybe once or twice a month, and clearly I don't judge myself. As for harder drugs, I don't know many people who do them frequently; I guess a little experimentation I don't mind but I generally assume that those few who get into it further are kind of dumbasses.

Cigarettes are a different story. I think they're disgusting.

It's none of my business.
And besides, I do enjoy the occasional toke or drink once in a while...

My parents just caught me though, and they are sending me to a psychologist for 'drug addiction' and other, more irrational reasons. Parents are the most irrational beings on the planet, it seems...

hahaha

my dad took me to summer haze last year. my parents are cool with me drinking (very little) under their supervision because they say that when I'm older if I don't know how to drink I'll end up being one of those people who gets trashed because they don't know their limit.

as for those who think that people who drink are doomed to be failures, I have one thing to say "the 70s"

No; I don't feel it is my place to judge other people for their choice of recreational chemicals. High school--never mind that, life--can be a very stressful experience, and most everyone has to deal with the pressure one way or another. Live and let live.

luminaire, honestly your post made me laugh. :) haha i dont drink (not until college, that is :) ).

i dont judge drinkers, honestly i want a companion/friend who can go out and have some fun (no, i'm NOT saying that non drinkers have fun, please dont jump all over me). but hey i respect ppl who dont drink either. props to ya.

smoking, i judge. not gonna lie. i see smokers as somewhat weak, as if they cannot overcome their problems and must turn to things that harm themselves tremendously as well as other people. i don't really judge "social" smokers, though. hey, you gotta try everything at least once....well maybe not meth or X but you get the idea.

drugs, i dont really care. just get some help.

yea, this sounds really weird, but o well: i am an extrovert--its what "stimulates" you, external or internal forces. not necessarily outgoing or not, thats just a symptom. but i am really shy when meeting ppl, so i have a hard time starting friendships/relationships. like, i have a lot to say and a lot i want to talk about, i just can't force it out of me. it feels really weird. things like not taking my ADD medicine haha and potentially alcohol will make me open up more. i think some ppl kinda have similar reasons to this.
