I agree with your points that every1 has a diff goal in life, and you shouldn't hate on others, etc
But a majority who go to CC's are jerkoffs and don't want to do anything in life.
Being in an atmosphere like this CAN affect you in a bad way (whether it is a big or small amount) whether you try to ignore it or not.

but having those jerkoff's should motivate you instead of the opposite effect. With CCC your in and your out anyways how can you even possibly pay any attention the people around you?

If the case is your looking for like minds well I wouldn't even think you would find that a UC or a csu until you do your upper division classes anyways. thats my rebuttal, I believe the negative environment produces greater results in the person striving for academic excellence.

unless you like to compete with others then you might feel more apprehensive. You have all of us on here which, is a smaller community but more alike, embellish with the luxuries on this forum, but don't hesitate to open up to your community college folk.

"The girls that wear skimpy clothing are hot, don't hate on them cause you don't anything physical to offer, I will walk up to a girl wearing a skimpy outfit than a girl that's not."

Innernet tough guy detected.

"As far as the people cheating, They are the smart one if they get away with it, you realize people with lie cheat and steal to get to the top, partake in it or get out of the way because those people are the go getter's."

Please, for the love of god, never go into any type of engineering.

I'm an internet tough guy because I state the truth Ok like there is any logic in what you just said.

people cheat to get the grades, or get a new job position thats the bottom line, I'm just saying beware of it or be apart of it, step on or get stepped on thats my philosophy and it's worked for me. I don't cheat nor do I condone cheating, but people do cheat and get away with it, I'm not going to knock them because they manipulate the system, I give them my condolences.

P.S. Don't come at me sideways with some hot headed **** like I'm some internet thug or whatever you were implying, if you don't like it don't listen to it. Geeze

Lol, would you please relax, big guy; this really is not the place for hot headed internet arguments --despite its being on the internet.

And, I think it is pretty clear from what you wrote (quoted below), that you tacitly approve of cheating.

I personally don't do it, but like I said if people tend to do it I'm not going to raise my eyebrow.

De Anza was my chance to fingerpaint again lol. I took SUCh cool classes there. I even took ceramics one quarter and made a freaking pot!

Foothill is almost like my proving ground though, in that it tests what I learned at De Anza. It's probably because I'm in my last quarters and because my classes now are a bit more academically focused (honors program).

I'm a huge advocate of either school though--as a matter of fact, this quarter I've been taking classes at both schools.

I agree with you, Ektaylor.

Those that cheat are just screwing themselves over and if you actually want to make something of yourself, you would never, ever think or even try cheating.

As to riot, those that cheat are not "go-getters", they're lazy *******s that are too scared to actually try. Manipulating the system at a CC isn't that hard. Doing it at a UC is near impossible because they will do whatever they can to catch you, it's almost like a game for the TA's and the professors.

Those at cheat at school don't deserve to go to school. If they're such a "go-getter" then they don't need school. Go become one of those rare millions that never needed a formal education, those exist and I sure call those people go-getters.

yeah CC have bad parking and people who sign up for classes then drop take away spaces for those who need the class. I'm also at a LA school district and when college say came where schools would set up their booth and hand out stuff, the csun line was the longest, if you're in a CC you should try for UC i guess.

Well my CC experience was generally positive. I had a couple bad teachers here and there, but as usual hard work and study can overcome such obstacles. A couple things in this thread made me laugh...the first was the mention of the kid in class who always interjects with some stupid ass comments and goes on for 15 minutes....i can't stand that. It's true, there's always one of those people in every class! The other thing that made me laugh is the cellphone mention..because that's me! If i already know the material, or the instructor can't keep my attention, i'll be Text-Master-Flex....texting has got to be the greatest invention of all time (not counting the genius decision to put gum in a lolipop).

NoMoreWait: I don't finger fu** my cell phone. Too much work.

I second the "stupid ass comments and goes on for 15 min." I can't stand those.

Haha i guess "finger f**king" my cell phone is a good way to put it! The ironic aspect of all of this, is that in high school i couldn't stand it when people would text in class. (i didn't have texting back then, parents wouldn't allow it).

The other thing i forgot to mention was parking..parking at EVC has been a nightmare. They closed one side of the parking lot for construction...they want to build some sort of theatre or something. It has made parking a HUGE pain in the ass. It's to the point that you can't wait for all the people who will drop out 3 weeks in to go ahead and drop out...If you have an early morning class (9-10ish) you better leave early...other than that though, the teacher at EVC were awesome for the most part. Just a couple bad apples on the tree.

I hear ya. It's bad enough to find a parking spot at OCC, but it's even worse when you park your POS car between two BMW's. This place is a joke.

Good side is, some girls are so into their looks that they'll wear mini skirts short enough to expose the bearded clam......ok, maybe not, but it's damn close.

Lackofsense, thank god you went to OCC because I could really need you when I started attending this fall of 08. Also, the girls with into looks, I'm into it sometimes because it did bring something interesting everyday after a boring lecture.

Right now, I never liked the idea of going to CC but I know I have to do it to make it far. During my high school years, I felt like very behind from my fellow classmates and I'm lacking common sense as I go on high school. I see CC as a improvement ground to test myself and fixed that needed to be fixed. Did anyone of guys ever thought about that when going to CC?

Going to OCC this year, I'm here to learn and nothing else, but comic relief could always help :)
