Do you study for state exams?

In Idaho the only state tests we have are the ISAT’s (Idaho Standard Achievment Test). It’s supposedly based on a score of 300, with mid about 230’s+ being advanced level. You have to pass each one around a 220-something to graduate. I met the graduation limit in elementary school. Oh, and if you don’t pass those, you’re given another test to take. We have three (if you’re past class of 2012 you have have to take four) Math, Reading, Language Usage, and now Science.

I dont study for the NYS regents.
I dont think anyone does.
They’re pretty easy.
99 on Math B. ■■■.

We don’t even have to write essays. Our test is all multiple choice computerized. Up until last year, as you kept getting questions right, the difficulty level of your questions would increase. Now it’s all static. They’re really really easy.

Hellz no! 10char

no. they’re dumb, extremely poorly written, and a waste of time.

^ Exactly.

If you do well on the Regents you can get a NY State scholarship. I did, and I can’t even use the money for college because it’s only allowed to be used for NY colleges and I’m going to college outside NY. What a waste of free $2,000.

ROFL. I live in Texas and we have the TAKS (Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills) administered to us. It’s so pathetic it’s funny.

I think Texas has one of the worst state-wide education systems in the country, but my school is one of the best in the state. It’s no surprise that no one even takes the TAKS seriously.

Example on SS TAKS: We had an almost true and false question stating “Texas is the best state in the nation”

^ That question is wrong on so many levels; how the heck do we even try to figure out in which area Texas is the best? People laughed about it for days after the test…

^ Sadly it’s one of the better in comparison to Idaho. Seriously. Hardly anyone in Texas can complain until they come here. At least there are competitive schools there. We lack that in entirety.

my school made a huge deal about scoring high on the CAHSEE and CSTs, because they want to raise our API score.

musicallylatin: There are competitive and high performing public schools in every state…

No…

Not here. Ok, we have one that kind of counts, except its in the northern part of the state. I know a few people in a few of the major areas. It’s not hardly competitive. I’m not sure I know of a magnent school. There are charter schools, but those are almost a joke too.

Sandstone High School? Something like that?

It must be pretty awesome to be a top student applying to college from that school. Everyone wants one kid from every state, so Idaho is a hook.

Ya, except I’m practically a failure as of lately. 3.2 gpa, and I can’t get proof of my anxiety issue.

LOL not in CA…the thought is laughable. Truly.

Our state exams are 25% of our final grade, they are normally pretty easy but I’m afraid our chem teacher hasn’t prepared us for the exam.

Ours are a part of final grades in every class this year, so I might actually study for Chem.

EOCTs are for dumb ppl, so no

40% is passing. 80% is like a god score…

the questions for the math ones make me chuckle.

x+3= 6. Find X.
