:) Indeed. I retract the "silly" and stick with "scary"

Have your isolationist ways. Don't "interfere" with another country ever again unless we are attacked on American soil first, if you wish. But if so, never complain about "human rights" again. Because in Iraq and Afghanistan, unlike Somalia and Rwanda and now Sudan, we are extending peoples rights, people's freedoms. We are, like it or not, spreading democracy to millions and millions of people who have never had it before. You think there is nothing to be had by winning in Iraq? Even the terrorists know that there is. Or else why are they in Iraq to blow themselves up? Go tell the Iraqi people that you want Saddam Hussein back in power. That you want them to go back to his torture chambers, that you want the Shiite and Kurdish villages to be covered with Sarin gas again. Tell Israel that you want Saddam's SCUD missiles aimed at them again. Go to the mass grave sites and open them up for business again. And tell ALL of the millions Iraqis that you don't give a rat's behind about their freedom. Since we've gone into Iraq, wages in that country have doubled. The valued of the Dinar has skyrocketed. The terrorists cause a myriad of problems, yes, but the United States is not to blame for their actions. If anything, America's resolve should be strengthened as we realize that the enemy in Iraq now is Islamic extremists who hate our freedom and wish to rule the world under the yoke of Sharia. Some of them fight under the banner of Al Qaeda, just as the ones who flew into the twin towers.
If 3,000 deaths is unacceptable for any cause now, how did we ever fight WWI and WWII? Or even the single battle of Gettysburg? Iraq only becomes Vietnam when the people lose hope and abandon a worthy cause. And remember how the unraveling of Vietnam started: by the media miscontstruing the Tet Offensive, a big U.S. victory, as a loss.

And what happens if this becomes Hillary or Barack's problem? Do you really want a complete withdrawal, thus totally wasting 3,000 lives and billions of dollars, or do you just want to see GWB fail at everything he does so you can have another fun go at the Two Minutes Hate?

This shall be my final word to the shortsighted Bush haters:
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse."
-John Stuart Mill

To the extent that killing them constitutes extending their rights, then sure.

The only thing we're extending lately is the appeal of extremism.

Lol. I see a :) in all of OpiefromMayberry's posts..

umm, i find it funny that so many people who will never be half as accomplished as our president find it amusing to make fun of him... Of course he has made tons of mistakes, but have some respect people...

Getting back to the original question....I think Bush would be a pretty darn good alum interviewer. He's got nothing but time on his hands. I mean, it's not like he's the one who's actually running the country, or ever has. It's a Milli Vanilli presidency. He's been lip-synching for 6 years.

^^^uh-huh rolls eyes

yes, yes, you rolled your eyes, but did you do it in synch? ;)
