Question above. Would he even be allowed? If he had the time?

I thought my daughter's interviewer looked familiar. That would also explain all those other guys standing around with what I thought were iPods in their ears.

No way, but that would be incredible.

Bush: "My philosophy for college admissions is: rejected once, shame on you, rejected twice...uhh... shame on ...once ya get rejected once ya can't get rejected again."

you gotta admit, it would be pretty cool to have your interview with Bush - and plus it would be probably one of the few times an applicant is smarter than the ivy interviewer. lol

that is a very unfair assesment of George Bush's intellegence. psh...i dunno what i should have expected from a Canadian =)

im just jokin

Funny he is the reason my D crossed yale off the list very early.

Your daughter had a bad interview with the president?

In this case, maybe "the alum interviewer" might really learn something....and we all could benefit...:=)

Speaking of presidents, Clinton was an Yale alum. Watch out with your Ds.

Hahaha. I wish I had a rich daddy to get me into yale.

"Funny he is the reason my D crossed yale off the list very early."

That's a pretty stupid way to make choices about which colleges you apply to, no...?

I was just gonna say that...

"That's a pretty stupid way to make choices about which colleges you apply to, no...?"

Probably no more stupid than your remark..no?

She likes where she's at, as she had a wide variety of choices across the country. She chose her best fit for her and she got in there on her own skills.
Not daddy's.

to another who says we are big fans of BC? Basically it's easy for him to look good because of who preceeded him and followed. It's easy to make a pebble shine like a diamond when surrounded by crap.

Actually that's not fair to Sr. He wasn't a bad president. Too bad he wasn't childless.

And yes, during her interview with the president she was put off by his lack of strateegery when to his Iraq policy. She was the decider in this situation and she's not gunna doit.

Sorry as well, we're just not caught up in the ivies as a be-all end-all to education and quality of life. We love the west and it's lifestyle and her goal someday is to deal with the wild horse problem without resorting to slaughter for foriegn tastes. Quality of life has different meanings to different folks. I'm off to the ole fishin hole.

Bush has a 125 IQ.

I would never be able to interview w/ Bush. I wouldn't have the mental strength to stop myself from saying "strategery" at least 20 times.

I'm sorry, I'm pretty sure my remark wasn't stupid. I never said that an Ivy education was the end all be all, but I still don't think you should choose the schools you applied to based on the fact that one person you dislike is an alumna/us. It's illogical to think that you can/will like every grad. of a school. With that being said, glad she ended up at the right place.

oh. and i think you shouldn't assume that a yale acceptee is granted admission because of a parent or relative -- legacies are given advantages everywhere, even at your daughter's school and the laid back west coast schools.

chill, dude, people are joking around

Kindaa sensitive this day huh? :)

It was actual off the cuff remark she made to me last night as we were talking about schools, she had so much pressure to ivy that was her basic response. Both my kids had the situation where they could do what they wanted to do and be happy (waaay too dam happy) with their college choices. They did what they wanted.

And yes, legacies are wonderful because they fund my kids scholarships.

It's funny, you always hear about those that get rejected that talk about the best fit stuff and being happy everywhere, but you NEVER hear about those that get in!

I mean for them, it must be like...NINTENDO SIXTY FOOOOOURRRRRR!
